Titanic History: The Truth (Page 7)

What was Titanic?
R.M.S Titanic (aka Royal Mail Steamer/Steamship) was an ocean liner that sailed from April 10th 1912 at Southampton, England to what was intended to be New York City, but sank on April 14/15th 1912. She was built by Harland and Wolff in Belfast, Northern Ireland and was intended to be part of a trio of sister ships for White Star Line.

Fact #7: Eating Areas
What's a ship without places to eat for its passengers?
Aside from the Dining Saloon, there were other places to eat on board. You could visit the A la Carte Restaurant, Cafe Parisian or Verandah Cafe as well. The A la Carte Restaurant was located on B-Deck aft of the Aft Grand Staircase. Booking a seat here would actually be cheaper than eating at the Dining Saloon as passengers would get a small rebate. The Cafe Parisian was also on B-Deck on the starboard side of the ship with a connection to the A ala Carte Restaurant. The Verandah Cafe was one of two rooms that connected to the Palm Court just behind the Aft Grand Staircase and was useful in all types of weather.
